The winter months have nearly passed and I like any breeders have had time to sort their sheds out and work out what to breed and what to find new homes for ect.

Well, my shed had lost the sound of the guinea pigs calling for their food in the mornings and it was breaking my heart. The bunnies did their best but, they just could make the same noise so, I was asked to look after a pregnant sow by the local pet shop who had unknown to him had taken in a very young pregnant sow.

I can’t let her go now!! Shes great and i just can’t wait to see what she has.

Sooooooooooooooooo!! I’m hooked again!! only this time I know what i’m looking for when this silly illness comes calling again!!

She was just a year old and it is beleaved that she died to “sudden death” its due to lack of fiber and proten in her diet.

I had not had her that long and brought her from what i thought was a “good show breeder” Sadly all is not what it says on the packet!!!!

I can’t and wont name names but what i would say is do your home work and ask questions, go round have a look and if you don’t like what you see walk away, I wasn’t allowed in the shed, infact i was only just about allowed in the garden!!!

Ring other breeders even if they don’t sell what you want ask them about the breeder in question, tell them if your unsure and maybe they will know a breeder that can help.

Ask the vet too!!!

RIP Lilly XXX

Due to a virus that came in with a new cavie I have lost over 90% of my beloved cavies this, has coursed me to make the heart renching act to stop breading and keep the four remaining cavies as pets.

It has been very heart breaking to go in the shed only to find yet another lifeless cavie laying there.

There are no signs that they are sick its sudden and words can’t say how painfull this year has been for all of us, its not just me that has lost so many and the vets have no word on what it is other than a virus!!!!!!

I will always be there should someone ask for help and i have my tips to treat sick cavies that may help, my phone will always be with me.

Zara, Jerry, black current and smudge are all that bet this thing and they now live together in a grand 3 story home where they are treated with 5* treatment.

RIP ALL MY OTHER CAVIES. XXXXX
